As many of you are aware, North Queensland is currently experiencing severe flooding, with significant impacts across several Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The most affected regions appear to be Burdekin, Cassowary Coast, Hinchinbrook, Townsville, Palm Island, and Ingham.

We are actively collaborating with our contacts in the northern regions of Queensland to assess the immediate needs of our primary producers.

Given the ongoing nature of this weather event, comprehensive evaluations will be conducted once the floodwaters have receded. It’s crucial that we approach our response thoughtfully, ensuring that our assistance is both timely and effective.

We encourage all primary producers affected by this event to reach out to our Farmer Support Team for assistance, or to please alert us to anybody you think might need our help.

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have already reached out, offering assistance and donations. Your generosity makes it possible for us to respond quickly and effectively to those in need.

We know our farmers will come through this, but you also know you’re not alone, and we are here to support you through this challenging time.
